Our Guests of Honor for GLFC 2016 are Coopertom, King Gourd and Scurrow. Scurrow Photo credit: raverkitty21 Scurrow is a Fursuiter, Artist, Musician and dancer (sort of) from New Jersey. His character is a non-discernible creature with a red nose and jester hat. (Hint: He’s a squirrel-wolf.) Known for his great nose, annoying accordion playing, and cryptic videos, Scurrow has been described as the “David Lynch of furry”. Scurrow joined the furry fandom after seeing some tremendously impressive art on FA and realized he had been drawing “furry characters” since he was 13. In 2009, Scurrow tried on a friend’s husky fursuit and realized it was the missing component of his entire life, eventually leading to him commissioning a fursuit from Jillcostumes in 2011 of his main toothy character. Before wanting to be a fluffy cartoon character, Scurrow had wanted to be a rock star and was actively in bands for the past 15 years, playing a variety of instruments including drums, guitar, bassguitar, and accordion. His repertoire of musical instruments has leaked into his furry performances, where he often plays accordion in convention hallways or ukulele on youtube videos. Recently, he has been working on original music with his raccoon character “I’ve Made too much pasta” where he plays acoustic guitar, ukulele, and accordion while singing and has even performed at some local non-furry open mics. Scurrow has also been drawing for his entire life and has a huge love for cartoons and comics. In addition to making appearences in his friends’ Cooper and King Gourd’s videos, Scurrow’s videos can be seen on his youtube channel King Gourd Photo Credit: King Gourd King Gourd is a fursuiter and YouTube video maker from southern Connecticut. He has been suiting and making videos since 2010 but has been involved with the fandom in one way or another since about 2003. After attending his first convention in 2008, seeing some of the con videos, and seeing other related fursuitvideos, the need to get a fursuit and experience that level of fun was born. Some of the videos that inspired this need were from Tilt Longtail, Twitch Da Woof, AudiMutt, and Coopertom. So after a few months, some basic materials, and a lot of beer he though up a character and his good friend Jason built the King Gourd suit. Since day one of the suit being completed, fursuit videos were being made. because of those videos he met several furry video makers such as Coopertom and Scurrow and a great friendship was made as well as several joint venture fursuit videos. For two years he even had a slot called “Fursuit Tip of the Day” on 2 Gryphon’s podcast “2Sense.” The amount of videos made by KG has diminished in recent years due to his (non-furry) involvement in the independent film industry. Making independent films and restoring/collecting classic Volkswagens are what you can find him doing on the weeks when hes not at a convention.
