is proud to support our local bands and musicians. , based out of Bethel, Connecticut, will be performing this Saturday night, March 10th from 9pm to midnight at the , 2 Main St. in West Redding. Crosstown is a rock and roll cover band with a distinctly bluesy feel. Expect to hear hits by varied artists such as Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Billy Joel, and more.
Check out the members of Crosstown:
James: bass, vocals, percussion. James played in his first band in 6th grade, and has enjoyed making good music with good friends ever since. Crosstown traces its lineage (with numerous personnel and band name changes along the way) to James’ garage in Bethel back in 1998, when he and Alan first started jamming together. When not at the office or participating in one of several volunteer activities, James enjoys trail running, rock and ice climbing and raising two musically inclined kids.
Alan: acoustic/electric guitar, banjo, mandolin, backup vocals. One of the founding members of Crosstown, he’s been playing since the 60’s(!). In recent years he’s played guitar on several occasions with the Connecticut Master Chorale, and was a guest musician on Kevin Gallagher’s 2011 Christmas special. Alan has been singing tenor with choirs for over 40 years, including six years with the Connecticut Master Chorale and currently the BUMC choir.
Greg: vocals and assorted insanity. Greg has been singing since elementary school and doing stupid things since before that. He has been performing with Crosstown since 2004. Greg (or GARG) currently works for Caraluzzi’s Markets. He also sings in the BUMC Choir.
Paul: drums, percussion. Paul played in two rock bands during high school and college. Then he decided to take a break (wife, family, making his first million, skiing & camping) until he ran into Greg at a party 8 years ago. Greg told Paul that Crosstown needed a drummer. Fortunately, Paul still had his kit and joined the band. He loves jamming and owes a lot to the ole’ Crosstown bandmates. Cheers!
Chris: keyboards, horns. Chris has been a member of Crosstown since 2010, and has played piano and assorted brass for over 30 years. He also enjoys singing and arranging music, and has written most of Crosstown’s horn parts. Chris is currently employed as an I/T Security professional, which has nothing to do with music, but he does spend the commute listening to new pieces for the band.
Jessica: saxophone, flute, vocals, dance captain. Jessica has been a member of Crosstown since 2010. She’s played the saxophone for nearly 20 years, and has been singing since she was a child. Jessica is currently the Director of Sales and School Services at Bethel Music Center, as well as a private music instructor. She sings in the BUMC Choir, and loves to dance (even if she’s not very good at it).
Sarah: tenor sax, backup vocals. Sarah has been a member of Crosstown since 2011, and has been playing piano, sax, and singing since she was a child. She is currently a piano teacher and the Music Education Coordinator at Bethel Music Center. Sarah is also a member of the BUMC Choir. She loves learning and playing new instruments, and her current quest is the calliope, so if anyone knows where she can find one in the area, please let her know.
