The spruce top adds bright colors to the guitar’s tone while the thin Nato sides offer the player easier access for the strumming arm. A specially designed x-scallop bracing gives each chord a notable sustain.
A thin nato neck with matte finish gives the APX500ii a great feel on the left hand, allowing for fast sweeps and less strain on the hand when playing wider chords. The highs and mids ring brightly with individual notes and punch through chords. Yamaha’s x-scallop bracing in the body help to counteract the diminished bass one would usually notice on a thinner-bodied guitar.
The on-board tuner is incredibly useful and can be used to tune the strings to any whole note. Pre-amp equalizers give the player the ability to customize the sound quality of the guitar as it projects through a PA system. Highs, mids, and lows can be intensified or muted using the guitar’s equalizers to suit a player’s needs for each song.
The APX500II comes in a variety of finishes including the standard spruce top and an ‘oriental blue’ burst.
