Style

Since the instrument is so versatile, Austin believes it’s imperative to introduce a variety of styles early on. This allows his students to explore the different options the guitar has to offer. Just as important is to incorporate the interests of students into the lessons as soon as possible. By using a combination of materials that cover both playing with a pick and finger-style, he’ll have you picking and strumming your favorite songs in no time!

Theory

Unlike piano and many other popular instruments, music theory is rather complicated and hard to comprehend when applied to guitar. This is mainly attributed to difficulty visualizing some key concepts due to the instruments complex design. Without using an overwhelming amount of tedious or monotonous theory, Austin creates lesson plans that engage the student through select aspects designed to assist in understanding direct connections between what you’re reading, playing and hearing, and avoids any unnecessary notions that could potentially hinder the overall process.
