It’s time for Midtown Art Scene! Just Goods will be featuring n exhibit featuring works by Steve Coogan in conjunction with Rockford Urban Ministries “Used Art Sale.”

Happy Earth Day! Just Goods will be hosting some of the Midwest’s favorite musiciansto celebrate Earth Day and Pete Seeger’s legacy. The lineup includes acclaimed Chicago-area musicians Mark Dvorak, Eric Lambert, The Pickin’ Bubs as well as Rockford’s Trinadora, Emerald Wind, Nic Juric, and Luke McGowan. Christine Swanberg and Christopher Simms, both Rockford-based poets with a national audience, will recite original poems for our planet.
Listeners can expect lots of jamming, toe tapping, hand percussion, and singing along There is no admission charge; a freewill offering will be taken, and the proceeds will help to pay for JustGoods’s annual performance rights licenses.
All the artists are donating their time; listeners will have an opportunity to express their gratitude to them by purchasing autographed books, CDs, and DVDs. Acoustics in the intimate concert room are excellent, but seating is limited, so please arrive early; doors open at 6:30pm. Additional information is available at , , or .
Emily Hurd is a soulful singer, songwriter, and proud Rockford native. Her performance style is bold and honest. The New York Times says of Hurd, “She sits at the piano, lips to microphone, Frye boot to pedal, and speaks her mind — in song.” Emily’s songs have appeared on television’s NCIS, 90210, and The Good Wife. She has currently produced 13 full-length albums that span the gamut from blues to bluegrass. Her favorite venue in the world is the Just Goods Listening Room.
Chicago singer-songwriter Amy Dixon-Kolar incorporates Celtic, traditional, blues and folk influences into her contemporary acoustic style. Recognized enthusiastically by audiences, reviewers, and listeners globally, her honest lyrics, distinctive vocals and fluid guitar stylings come together in a fresh expressive mix. Amy’s inspiration for songwriting comes from her work as a performer, teacher, social activist, ASL interpreter and mother. Her award-winning single, Rosa Sat, came out in January, 2009, has had over 300,000 views on YouTube, and is being sung all over the world. Amy has released two solo CDs, Now It’s Time (2008) and Dancing Through the Storm (2014), and an album with SongSisters – SongSisters Live! (2013).
