About
Mission: To become the most popular One Man Band in the world and the best by defining the term One Man Band. 80's Early 90's Mid 90's Late 90' 2000 2000 Early 2000's Early 00's Mid 00's Mid 00's Mid 00's Late 00's 2009 Today My One Man Band Story in short… I remember day dreaming of being a one man band around age 14, I think. About 24 years later, in March 2010 I decided to become ‘The One Man Band’ after seeing a rare gig lead for one. I did not just decide to do it and learn it. It’s taken a combination of skills I am passionate about and am lucky to have reason to work on. The learning has not taken a specific amount of time. I’ve more or less “morphed” into it from a life time of performing music for a living. At age 17 I became busker (street performer) and attempted to build a backpack drum kit but did not have resources to make it work. Then, I got a partial BA of Music and gigged… on streets to arenas and every venue type in between. I’ve worked solo (with drum machines andbacking tracks before the word “Karaoke” existed), in bands, in comedy troupes and even with a few national acts. Fast forward to 2010, armed with a garage full of power tools, steady solo bar gigs to test run and a belief I could do something most people can’t comprehend, I built a backpack drum kit that has worked beyond my expectations. I added harmonica to my tool belt and successfully experimented with guitar effects to produce a bass line while playing guitar. For now, I play 9.5 instruments at once and truly rival the performance of a 3 or 4 piece band. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people” — Eleanor Roosevelt “The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway wherethieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs.
