Alex Di Reto, singer-songwriter in the style of the folk-blues tradition. Drawing from the influences of Dylan, B. Springsteen, T. Waits, S. Stills and JJ Cale, Alex  delivers deep syncopated grooves, surrealistic, intimate, “dusty” voice lyrics,  in a raw music blend of blues, country and rock. His repertoire spans from the legendary Afro American blues-ragtime orientated classics to his own confidential “laid back” ballads. Intimate lyrics, warm “dusty” voice, are counterpoint to his finger picking guitar playing, on acoustic, resophonic and lap-style guitars. BIOGRAPHY Alex Di Reto was born in Rome, Italy, in 1955. From 1964 to 1968 he lives in Canada where he starts to play guitar. Back in Italy, from the influences of American folksingers, in 1978, he discovers country-blues fingerpicking and becomes a student of . In 1983 he lives in Chicago and attends “The Old Time School of Folk Music”. Since the year 2000 he’s the co-founder and collaborator of the Italian Acoustic GuitarWebsite: In 2002 he publishes “La Chitarra Slide”, an instructional video on Bottleneck slide guitar playing. In 2006 he publishes “My Own Song”, an album with seven of his songs, recorded live in studio. In 2011 he publishes “Night Colors“, a CD with 12 new original tunes, home-recorded live, vocals, guitars and harmonica.  In 2013 he publishes “Love’s no serious thing” an 8 song country blues studio album enriched with violin, sax, Fender Rhodes and Hammond organ, electric guitars, cello, bass, drums and backing vocals. He performs solo acoustically or with his Tulsa Sound Band.
