Equipment for Students and Faculty – Senatobia
The R. C. Pugh Library has many types of equipment to assist our students with their assignments and our faculty and staff with teaching. Use these resources to complete assignments, make multimedia projects to post to Canvas, and learn a new language. Students may only checkout the items indicated in the description. A & P Models These models of a brain, ear, eye, heart, and kidney are located in our A&P Room at the back of the library. Faculty/Staff and students may use these items in the library. Apple TV Use Apple TV to stream content to your TV from your Apple devices using AirPlay. You must have iOS 4.3 or later installed on your Apple device to use AirPlay. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Copier You can make a copy on our black and white copiers for $.15 a page. Faculty/Staff and students may use these items in the library. Digital Camera Our Sony Cybershot cameras with high zoom lenses will help you capture important pictures at a distance. Faculty/Staff may checkout thisitem. Digital Projector If you need to give a presentation in the classroom or at a conference, check out one of our projectors. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Digital Voice Recorder If you need to record your voice to post a lecture onto Canvas or to help take minutes during a meeting, we have two digital voice recorders that can connect to your computer with their USB cables. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. DVD/VHS Player Play either your DVD or VHS collection. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Elmo Projector For projecting documents and other items that are not transparent, use this Elmo Projector. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Flip Video Cameras This video camera is very easy to use and can make videos quickly for your class projects. Simply flip out the flash drive to upload the video to your computer and to charge the batteries. Students and Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. GPS Need to drive to a conference? We have two portable GPS devices.Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Guitar We have 5 Jasmine acoustic guitars if you need one to take Northwest’s guitar class or just want to play one on your own. Students and Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Handheld GPS We have one Handheld GPS for use for hiking or geocaching. Students and Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Headsets Need to borrow a pair of headphones? How about a microphone for using or for using Skype? We have adapters available if your computer or phone does not have individual microphone and headphone jacks. Students and Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. iPads Try out new apps, watch videos, surf the web, take photos and listen to music when you are on the go. Check out our and our . Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Laminator We have a laminator available that may be used to preserve signs, documents and pictures. Faculty/Staff may use this item in the library. Laptops Take advantage of the wireless internet and printing in the library towork on a Dell laptop that has Microsoft Office software. Students may checkout this laptop for 2 hours for use in the library only. Use our Dell XPS 13 laptop when you need a portable device to take with you when you go to a conference. Faculty can checkout either type of laptop. Micro Projector We have one micro projector that is only 6 inches long and 4 inches wide, making it extremely portable. We have adapters that will allow you to use your iPad or iPhone with this projector. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Overhead Projector If you have transparencies, use this projector to show this information to your class. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Portable PA System If you need to be heard over a crowd, try our portable PA system. It all snaps together, making it easy to transport to where you will broadcast. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Printing We offer black and white, color, and wireless printing. See library staff for more details about printing in thelibrary. Faculty/Staff and students may use this in the library. Remote We have several presentation remotes with laser pointers. Flip the switch on the side, and you can also use it as a mouse. Faculty/Staff can checkout these items. Scanner Scan photos or documents and save them to your flash or H drive. Faculty/Staff and students may use this in the library. Scanning & Reading Appliance (SARA) This will scan a text-based document or page in a book and will read the words aloud. Connected to a screen, it will also display the scanned document in large text. Faculty/Staff and students may use this in the library. Skeleton We have both an articulated and disarticulated skeleton located in our A&P room. Faculty/Staff and students may use these items in the library. Speakers (USB) Our USB speakers are easy to use and are very portable. Faculty/Staff may checkout this item. Television with VHS/DVD Player If you need to watch a VHS tape or DVD in the library for an assignment, these setsare located in the Media Computer Lab. Faculty/Staff and students may use these items in the computer lab. Televisions We have several larger television sets on carts. Faculty/Staff may checkout these items.
