The library is holding a basket raffle for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
The Mother’s Day basket is full of “pampering” items, including Young Living Essential lavender oil and Jamberry nail wraps. The winner will be drawn on Monday, May 2nd.
The Father’s Day basket was donated by Zippo and includes a lighter, hand warmer and other items. The winner will be drawn on Monday, June 13th.
Sing, Dance, Play! preschool classes with Rachel Bell will take place at the library on April 11th and 18th, May 23rd, and June 6th at 10:30 a.m. These classes are free, but are limited to 15 children. Sign up now to reserve your spot! This program is made possible through a grant provided by the Potter County Commissioners.
Join us for a night of folk music with Adam Miller on April 25th at 6:00 p.m. One of the premier autoharpists in the world, Adam Miller is a renowned American folksinger and natural-born storyteller. An accomplished folklorist, historian, musicologist, and song-collector, he has amassed a remarkable repertoire of over 5,000 songs. Miller accompanies his rich, resonant baritone voice with lively finger-picking acoustic guitar and stunningly beautiful autoharp melodies. A masterful entertainer who never fails to get his audience singing along, he has distinguished himself as one of the great interpreters of American folktales and folksongs, and as a performer who appeals to audiences of all ages.
The library is in need of more members for our Library Friends group. What does a Friend do? Library Board Meeting: The library board of trustees meets monthly on the 4th Monday at 4:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
Family History Group: Are you interested in discovering more about the branches of your family tree but don’t really know where to begin? Would you be interested in meeting with others to share ideas and resources? This group meets on the 2nd Friday of every month at 1:00 p.m.
Researching the History of Education in the Oswayo Valley: Our goal is to help organize and enhance the collection of the Oswayo Valley Historical Collection of items and information related to education in the local valley for the past 200 years since the area was developed by the first settlers. This group meets on the 2nd Friday of every month at 1:00 p.m.
The book club meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. to discuss their current book. There are extra copies of the book available. We would love to have new members join us!
The Stitch Together Knit & Crochet Group meets every Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Work on your newest project and join in on the conversation. Don’t know how to knit or crochet? That’s okay! We’ll teach you!
