Do you like to learn and play guitar chords, but donot know where to begin and how to begin? You don’t need to be worried, as this problem is faced by every novice. There is a need to start with two things besides the basics of guitars for beginners. First, you need to develop finger strength, skill and tractability. After you feel that your fingers have strengthened and able enough to shift between chords, you need to get some song tabs and start working. Here are some of the exercises performed by guitarists and can help you a lot in mastering the skill.
Finger Exercise One
Before you begin, you need to find the finger numbering while playing a guitar. The first finger is called the index finger while the last one is called pinkie or little finger.
You have to practice the notes from left to right. Start on the 5th fret low E which is the thickest string of all. For each string play four notes, one note at a time using all four fingers like 1-2-3-4. Now shift down to string ‘A’ with all four fingers again. Try to rehearse the process several times by changing the pick up and down. Continue with the process so that you reverse the process moving it back from high E to low E.
Finger Exercise Two After you feel that, you are comfortable with the first exercise, try starting on sixth and seventh fret wherever you want. Use the fingers in the same manner like 1 then 2, 3 and then 4. This is what 1-2-3-4 means. Keep in mind that you need to alternate the pick down and then up. Your fingers will get used to the process and by the time will speed you up. However, before that you have to go through the pain and get tired soon. This is a common problem in playing guitar for beginners. After practicing for several times you will feel that, the pain has vanished.
Finger Exercise Three
This exercise is a bit different from the two discussed above. In this exercise, you will have to start with low E string from left to right. Here, the way of using the finger is different. The process is somewhat like this; 1,2 – 2,1; 2,3 – 3,2; 3,4 – 4,3. You should alternate your pick to enhance the speed.
Finger Exercise Four
The fourth exercise is also a bit different. In this exercise, you need to play one note at a time like 1,2,1; 2,3,2; 3,4,3; 2,3,2. After that, move to the next string and repeat the process. Once you have practiced it enough, try to do it without picking your hand. The accuracy you need to play guitar is hard, so don’t get frustrated. If you are determined and motivated, you can simply learn it quickly.
